Yesterday I spent the day at Koryo university (see pic.1), one of Seoul's top universities. Most of the friends whom I met in Spain attend it, actually. In pic 2, you can see Seunghye unni and Eunsun unni. Koryo's campus is quite recent and it's very vast. The courses are (surprisingly) offered in English despite the fact that most of the students/teachers are Korean.
Picture 3 was taken in Kangnam, where I went for dinner with Eunsun unni and one of her friends. We had samgyopsal (lettuce wrap of grilled pork with a spicy sauce).
Picture 4 looks like picture 3 but it's two different areas. Picture 4 was taken in the northern part of the city, the area called Shinchon (close to University of Yonsei). I went there for dinner with Dahee (pic 5), a friend who came to McGill last year as an exchange student. We had sundubu jjigae (spicy tofu soup) with saengson (fish). Later we went to a place called Orange Sharp for ice cream!!! It was quite special, cuz there were pieces of sweet potatoes and fruits in the ice cream... At first it was a bit strange, but it was pretty good.
After dinner, we walked around the Yonsei campus. It is also quite a recent campus in terms of architecture. It is also a top university (in constant competition with Koryo) and it is famous for its Korean Language Institute and its medicine faculty, which dates back from the very creation of the university, when the Christian missionaries first came to Korea. Speaking of which, you can see (picture 8), the first building of the university. The rest is rather modern...
So far so good... People still great. Food still good. Places to visit abundant. lol
I miss my friends at home though... just a little. (Talked to Winnie and Nanako today. Miss you guys!)
