African Dinner

Today I went to a restaurant called Goree (on crescent street) with three of my friends. The already famous Nanako-sama and two African friends : Laura and Providence, both of whom I met while I was working at Gemma (that rip-off telemarketting company)...

It was a Senegal restaurant, but it also served some Cameroon specialties. To be honest, I don't remember the name of the dish I had, but it was basically fried spinaches with shrimps, served with fried bananas. It was delicious! The place was a bit expensive, but once in a while, it's worth trying... It was a very secret place, since the restaurant is usually a night club and a bar! lol

It was quite good... Maybe we'll see them again soon for clubbing?
Here are some pics of us:

Namdaemun Burnt Down

Yesterday, in South Korea, Namdaemun (the Southern Gate, most often referred to as Sungryemun) was set on fire by a 69 year-old man who was unsatisfied about a compensation payment.... He wanted to make the government pay for his frustration... It was a 600 year-old structure which had been renovated a few times and it was the Number One National Treasure in Korea. I think it's a tragedy for all the Koreans... and I am so shocked that someone would be stupid enough to do such a thing!!!

Here are some pics of before and after:

Quebec city

Hi everyone, it's been a while! I was so busy with studying in general, I didn't see time go by. This week-end I went to Quebec city with 9 of my friends (Winnie, Nanako, Heather, Ryosuke, Kosuke, Hiroyoshi, Momoko, Yuu and Kim). We reserved a hotel for one night and it was pretty cheap. The weather was a bit cold and snowy but overall it was really nice to walk around Old Quebec and see the Frontenac Castle. It's very European in terms of architecture but you can feel that it's not Europe... I guess the mixture of Canadian and French culture gave some very unique cultural result... We had food in some pretty fancy and good restaurants and had fun sleighing and rafting down hills... We also had Beaver's tails, which is a traditional Quebec dessert made of a sugary paste... Ice castle, snow statues, bon fire and sleighs, you name it... Going around was a lot of fun. My favorite part was the Old Quebec, close to the Old Port. There are many good restaurants and cute shops... Well, it's no use describing, I'd rather take you guys with me to visit it someday! Until then, here are some pics so enjoy! (If you wanna see the pics better, click on them!)

Middle: Nanako in Old Quebec
Right: The leader of the party, the Bonhomme Carnaval surrounded by us, pretty girls. What a lucky boy eh! ;)
