What a good day!

I thought my day was gonna be ordinary and not so exciting since I was really tired all day long and since the weather wasn't nice.... but I was wrong! lol

I went to McGill to have lunch with Aki "nee-chan" and Fiona. It was nice to talk to them, and especially since I hadn't seen them for a while because of the exams and all... Aki seemed preocupied but she was smiling brightly as always. We ate at SSMU, then we went to "Au Pain Doré", a bakery (and patisserie) to buy some sweets for Seung-soo oppa's birthday and to have a coffee (there's a nice coffee shop on the second floor.) Here are some pics:

(Btw, Fiona is from HK and I met her through Aki during the activity day of McGill, as we were all looking for which clubs to join... I saw her again several times later with Aki and everytime, we have some really interesting and funny convos... )

After that, I rushed to Korean class to give our cakes to Seung Soo oppa, and went with him to the library to study for my Tibetan Final exam.... (There are so many vocab lists... I hope I can get through all of them!) Later Nana-chan came by, we went for coffee at this place close to campus...

I can't remember the name but I think they have the prettiest hot chocolate ever! (But I do remember going there once with Hiro-chan and thinking that I should go back there just for the prettiness of the hot chocolate!) Anyways. We talked for a bit and then we looked outside and it was snowing heavily! lol We decided to brave the storm and find a place to have dinner. We ended up at Reuben's... (Strange thing is, there are two Reuben's on Ste-Catherine street, but one of them is much more expensive than the other? Is it normal?) So we had dinner, we talked some more and then we ended up... going to her place, close to Atwater!!

She lives with one person and currently 3 cats (the cute one is to be given away soon...) At first, I didn't really like her cats cuz two of them are kinda fat and not so interesting and the cute one is hyper and kept climbing my pants by planting her claws on my leg... it hurt!!! So my only idea was to endure my allergies and stay away from them... but then the cute one started calming down and fell asleep on my lap... She was sooo cute! ^^; lol Even I couldn't resist..... Too bad I have no pics... I'll try to post some later.

So we studied for a while, I got a bunch of things done (wow, so efficient!!!) and then Nana and I played burudoku (kind of Rock-paper-scissors) and she made me............. PANCAKES!!!! :D:D You can't even imagine how happy I was...

Nanka, I love pancakes, but I only like the homemade ones... so I never get to eat them since I live on my own and I don't really cook... Her pancakes were delicious... I'm so happy... (On the right, that's when the pancake was being cooked... At the back, notice the bowl and the preparation mix...) Nana said she is so happy to cook for other people... Let me make you happy, please cook for me all the time!! lol High Five Nana!!! Dai suki!

My sister's birthday

My mood went up and down yesterday... I'll qualify it with numbers...
Yesterday I woke up late as usual and didn't get done half the work I was supposed to. -10

Then, I got more computer problems -10.

I saw Nanako at the library +10
There were very annoying people behind us at the library who kept talking and laughing super loudly. -10

Then I went for a hot chocolate with Amparo, a Spanish friend. +10

I went home at 7:05, 5 minutes late and my brother scolded me both for the waiting and for the dirtiness of my appartment. -20

We went to the birthday dinner of my sister. +10
The food was delicious and the people were nice +10

I lost my Key and got scolded by my brother again -10
His friend found my key in the car +10

My sister was happy about her gift : +10
But her friend gave her the same thing 5 minutes before me: -40. :(

I want to cry. It's the first nice gift I buy my sister and someone gave her the (almost) same thing just before.................................................

For the broken hearts...

Recently one of my friends has broken up with her boyfriend. If she reads those lines, she'll recognize herself. This entry is for her.

When you can't stand the cold night, just let us know and we'll run over to you. I am not a person of many words, but I'll listen carefully to everything you will be willing to say.

Your soft, crying face reminded me of that beautiful poem by my favorite poet Pablo Neruda. It's about a man who lost the woman he loved. It talks about the memories he has and how it's hard not to remember.

I hope you'll feel better soon.

(English version after each verse in Spanish.)

Poema 20
Poem 20

I can write the saddest verses tonight
Write, for example: "the night is starry and far away the blue stars are shivering"
The wind of the night swirls in the sky and sings.
I can write the saddest verses tonight.
I loved her and sometimes she loved me too.
In the nights like this one, I held her in my arms.
I kissed her so many times under the infinite sky.

She loved me and sometimes I loved her too.
How could have I not loved her great permanent eyes.
I can write the saddest verses tonight.
To think I don't have her. To feel that I have lost her.
To hear the immense night, even more immense without her.
And the verse falls to the soul, like the dew to the grass.

What does it matter that my love couldn't protect her.
The night is starry and she is no longer with me.
That is all. Far away someone is singing. Far away.
Mi soul doesn't satisfy of having lost her.
As if I wanted to get closer, my glance is looking for her.

My heart is lokoing for her and she is no longer with me.
The same night that whitens the same trees.
We, those of then, we're not the same anymore.

I don't love her anymore, it's for sure, but how much did I love her.
My voice was searching the wind to touch her hearing.
Someone else's. She'll be someone else's. Just like before she was my kisses'.
Her voice, her clear body. Her infinite eyes.
I don't love her anymore for sure, but perhaps I love her.
So short is love, so long is the oblivion.
Because in nights like this one, I held her in my arms,
Mi soul doesn't satisfy with losing her.
And even though this is the last pain she will cause me,
and those are the last verses I'll write for her.

Dinner at my Place

Yesterday, Monica, Nana-chan, Kosuke and Hiro oppa came to my appartment for dinner. I went to Jang Teu the same day to buy Bulgogi (korean bbq style beef) and Ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes) and side dishes. But then, they had no more bulgogi!! Panicked, I still bought ddukbokki and japchae (noodles)... and I headed to the restaurant Bulgogi House to get some Bulgogi. Then I went home, prepared everything and waited for everyone. We had dinner and then we watched Kurenai no Buta (Porco Rosso). We then had a talk and I gave them the following personality Quiz:

1. If you could be a pet, what would it be and give 3 or 4 attributes of the pet that you like as a reason why.

2. If you could be a wild animal, what would it be and give 3 or 4 attributes of the animal that like as a reason why.

3. If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life (favorite dish of all time) what would it be and give 3 or 4 reasons.

4. If you had a blank wall (like in the Matrix) and you could do anything to it (you're GOD!) what would you do ? (three things)

If you haven't answered it yet, do so in the comment section!! I'll let you know later what is the meaning of the test! Then we talked for a while and Monica and Nanako stayed over.

My Hero... Lol

Sorry, I didn't write for a while. These days, I've been catching up on classes, studying and watching Hockey with Charles... (The Habs beat the Leafs! YAY! lol) Anyways, today, I wanna talk about 선생님 (Korean teacher). I criticized her a lot for favouring the Korean students in our class, but this week she became my hero. Haha... Let me explain.

We were practicing a very simple exercise. 아/어야죠 ( should/must)
There was a dialog between A and B and we had to fill in the blank with a sentence.

A: 머리 아파요. (My head hurts)
B:___________________

Since, it's an exercise of 아야죠 (must/should), the answer of B would logically be something like:

B: 병워에 가야죠 (you should/must go to the Hospital)
or
B: 약 먹어야죠 (you must/should take some medicine)

But that guy called Yujin in our class, who lacks total common sense, and doesn't even speak English properly (why the heck is he taking a second language Korean class if he's a native speaker?), couldn't find the answer and said:

B: 그럼, 머리 아파야죠. (Of course, your head must/should hurt)

So the dialog would be like this:

A: 머리 아파요. (My head hurts)
(Of course, your head must/should hurt!)

And after another Korean native made the same kind of stupid mistake (let's not be light with words, it IS stupid), our teacher said and I quote:

"Oh my. It's hard to teach this class because not only I have to teach you guys Korean but I also have to teach you common sense................."

That was HILARIOUS. She just insulted them right in their face!!!! lol Oh 선생님 we love you!! You're my Hero now...
Here's a pic in memory of our Last Year's Korean class. Akira-kun, me, SSK, 선생님, Sumi ssi, Heeja, and Bebe-ya

Achmed the Dead Terrorist

Here is a video that KH oppa showed me recently...

It's a ventriloquist whose doll (a squeletton with a turban, a beard and really funky eyes) is a dead terrorist called Achmed.
Check it out, you're gonna love him. After watching it, you'll keep saying "Silence! I kill you!"

(To deactivate the music of my page and watch the video, just go down the page and press pause or stop on the music player. Yeah, I know it's kinda obvious, but I'm sure some people don't even know this much! lol)

Brunching, Shopping, Clubbing

(You're supposed to sing the title of my entry on the tune of Sitting, waiting, wishing by Jack Johnson... lol)

So, after a long day of sickness and depressing doing-nothing (Friday), Saturday I had a long and good day with my family and friends. I had plans to go brunch with Nana-chan and Monica, so we went to Cora. I was a bit late, cuz I forgot to set my alarm and so I woke up at the time when I was supposed to leave the house... We had a long talk, a great breakfast and then we split cuz Nana-chan had to go study... What a good student.
Monica and I went to Archambault, which is a music store close to Berri Uqam. You can find anything you want there: cds, dvds, music sheets, instruments, etc. etc. We hung out for a while and then went home separately.

Then, as I was going home, I noticed my sister had called me. So I went over to her place, and then we went to the Jean Talon Market together with my nephew. Here's a pic.

Isn't he the cutest thing ever?

Then I went home, thinking I'd stay in and relax, but I got a few very unexpected phone calls. The first one was from Miyuki's boyfriend Alex. He was organizing a party at his place. Before I knew it, I was in a metro heading over to the McGill Ghetto. I called MJ Violet to know if she wanted to come along and so she cancelled her previous appointment to hang out with me! lol, I feel special.

The second unexpected phone call was from my "little sister" Aya-chan who came from Lennoxville to see her aunt in Montreal. She asked me what I was up to and so I invited her over to the party. There were a few people over there; a Chinese girl named Meiou, a Japanese girl named Emi, a cute Italian guy called Andrea, our host Alex and another guy whose name I don't remember. (The latter looked like a Japanese guy that I had met in Salamanca, Ryota-san.... a bit strange, but nice I guess. )

Here is a pic of Aya, Andrea and MJ-Violet:

We had dinner which was really good. It looked like beef stew with an Asian flavour... I'm not sure what it's called tho, so I'll just ask Alex later. Then we listened to music and talked for a while and around 11 we headed over to Meiou's friend's place. There were Spanish people there, I was sooo happy!! lol They made me drink Kaipirihna, which is a brasilian drink made of Cachaça (40%), crushed ice, sugar and lime... It was strong, sweet and simply absolutely delicious!! After drinking a bit and looking at people smoking shisha, we all headed to Cafe Campus to go clubbing but there was a lineup... And it was cold outside. So we kept walking up St-Laurent to find another club. We went to Ballroom, which kinda sucked in terms of music, but since the people hanging out with me were pretty cool, I still had fun. MJ-Violet hit on the Italian guy and gosh, I'm sure he'd wished he was single! lolll Aya and I went home a bit early, but what a night!

Halloween in Pictures

Yeah, earlier I told you guys I don't like Halloween. And it's true, I don't. But there are some pretty cool things that occur at Halloween. For example: friends dressing up, getting drunk and doing crazy things. Please look at the following pictures.

At the left, Akira-kun and MJ-Violet. Akira kun felt like dressing up like a girl. His body is so thin, if it weren't for the missing boobs and the hair, he'd be perfect! (Actually, he's much sexier than many girls I know............. sad...)

At the right, Charles and MJ-Violet, pretending to be drunk. I heard that Charles danced like crazy that night, but usually he doesn't like dancing! The effects of Alcohol.... lol

Halloween

I was never a fan of Halloween. It's kinda spooky to see all those kids running around dressed up asking for candies... brr. So yesterday night, I had a movie night planned with my friend Charles. We watched cheesy movies (we were in the mood for comedies); Down with Love (2003), Monster-in-Law (2005) and... Aeon Flux (2005)? (Actually, I fell asleep during Aeon Flux.... but anyways.) These days, I don't get to see many people cuz everyone seems to be busy with exams... But I find it's really nice to spend some time with Charles... We talk a lot, play cards, eat junk food and watch movies.... Haha relaxing time! ^_^

Oh... and he initiated me to Hockey.... I didn't use to watch it and I thought it was pointless but now I think I'm starting to enjoy it... Can you believe it? Hm. Go Habs Go~! lol
