In KOREA!

Well well... after a long trip (4 hours to Vancouver, then 12 hours to Incheon), I arrived safely and surely to Seoul! They gave me some trouble with my Visa when I entered, but in the end, I was okay... My friend Eunsun (은선) was waiting for me at the airport with the personal driver of her father... They gave me a lift to another friend's place (Seunghye's 승혜) where I'll be staying for another two days.

How can I describe my first impression of Korea? hmm. Difficult to say... I didn't expect anything special when I left, but actually... it's pretty awesome! People are nice, the food is delicious... The friends I hang out with these days are people whom I met in Spain 2 years ago. I was wondering how it would be to meet them again after 2 years and I am glad of how it turned out. They're taking really good care of me, driving me around, taking me shopping and teaching me Korean very patiently... (I learnt words like "strangle", "disgusting", "steal".. very useful ;) lol)

We stayed mostly in the Southern part of the city (kangnam 강남) and so I didn't really get to see any of the cultural sites... I also had to get used to the Jet lag, so I didn't stay up very late everyday... but... yesterday evening, we went up north, close to Hong Ik University for a concert. I gotta admit that I was pretty amazed when we crossed the bridge separating the north and the south of the city at night. The view was so beautiful!

There are many things that surprise and amaze me in this place... like... the buns seller on jammed roads at rush hour... or the super technological toilets... Or my friend's appartment, which has about as many rooms as my house, except all on one floor... Or the fact that all girls look similar and different at the same time?... lol I'm currently working on redoing my wardrobe to fit in better in this very peculiar society... Think I can do it?
